Had a beautiful day in Sault today though I spent most of it inside the engine room reconnecting everything. We have a new shaft, dripless stuffing box, coupling, and rebuilt prop. They're all installed and the motor has been re-aligned with the shaft. With any luck we will be in the water in the morning and I will prepare the boat to motor to Midland where we hope to have the rest of the repairs done and finished in time to head south once again. The experience of the last few weeks has been surreal, fascinating, frustrating, and in many many ways told me how many great people are out there willing to help in any way they can. I will never have enough words of thanks for all who have been there when we needed them.
I will be talking with boat yards in the Midland area tomorrow and hope to have some concrete plans set by tomorrow night. Until then, have a great night and day tomorrow.
